On April 2-3, 2025, a delegation from Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU), the first higher education institution established in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), visited Hedef Group of Companies. The EMU delegation included Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan Kılıç, Head of International Relations Department Assoc. Prof. Cahit Ezel, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy Prof. Dr. Ozan Gülcan, Faculty of Education lecturer Prof. Dr. Sibel Dinçyürek, and businessman İlhami Bilgen.
The two-day visit proved to be highly productive, successful, and memorable for both parties. On the first day, EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan Kılıç delivered a seminar titled "Ways to Successful Management" for the executives of the companies within Hedef Group. During the seminar, the Rector shared insights and strategies for effective management, along with his personal experiences.
Later that day, a meeting was held at the Hedef Group headquarters, where several topics of mutual interest were discussed and future cooperation prospects were outlined. As a result, a cooperation protocol was signed between EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan Kılıç and Hedef Group General Director Assoc. Prof. Dr. Shamil Sadiq.
On the morning of April 2, Prof. Dr. Sibel Dinçyürek, family psychologist and lecturer at EMU’s Faculty of Education, held a training session at Hedef High School’s Azadliq branch for 9th, 10th, and 11th-grade students titled “From Mental Burden to Success: Understanding and Managing Exam Anxiety.” Students were provided with useful advice on managing exam stress, effective time management, and related topics.
In the afternoon, Prof. Dr. Sibel Dinçyürek conducted a seminar for teachers and parents on “Cybersecurity.” The seminar focused on the proper use of internet resources by children and adolescents, potential cyber threats, and appropriate solutions.
Meanwhile, Assoc. Prof. Cahit Ezel visited Hedef Courses’ Azadliq branch, and Dean Prof. Dr. Ozan Gülcan visited the Ahmedli and Bakikhanov branches, where they met with prospective students and gave advice on career planning and successful selection of specialties.
On April 3, 2025, the EMU delegation visited Hedef High School’s Qurtulush branch, where they met with the teaching staff and young students. During the visit, the guests were introduced to the school’s facilities including classrooms, laboratories, sports hall, STEAM room, and more. The guests expressed their appreciation for the environment created at the school and the modern knowledge and values being imparted to students.
The visit concluded with an exchange of commemorative gifts between EMU Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan Kılıç and Hedef Group General Director Dr. Shamil Sadiq.
As a result of the 2-day visit, it was agreed to expand cooperation between the two parties, including awarding scholarships from EMU to winners of the 2nd Turkish Integration Olympiad, launching joint projects, organizing summer and winter schools, student and faculty exchange programs, and other collaborative academic initiatives.
