The “Smart City Expo Kuala Lumpur 2025” exhibition, held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre from September 17 to 19, once again brought together technology experts, startups, government representatives, and investors from around the world under the theme “AI Cities: Shaping Our Digital Future.” Shamil Sadiq, an educational technologist and entrepreneur representing Hedef Companies Group, also attended the event and got acquainted with the innovations presented.

It should be noted that “Smart City Expo Kuala Lumpur” is considered the Asian version of the international “Smart City Expo World Congress” held in Barcelona and is one of the most prestigious events in the region on urban planning, sustainability, digital transformation, and artificial intelligence applications. This year, the exhibition featured:

  • Well-known companies such as Tesla, Huawei, Western Robot, Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC), and ASEAN Smart City Network with their stands;
  • A startup zone where young inventors and innovative projects were showcased;
  • Discussions on the “Live Theatre” stage about the role of artificial intelligence in city management, robotics technologies, green energy, and “smart transport.”

Among the most attention-grabbing exhibits were various types of robots:

  • Tesla Optimus humanoid robot,
  • Bipedal service robots from Western Robot,
  • Robotic dogs capable of inspecting oil and gas pipelines,
  • And interactive presentations by humanoid robots such as “Sophia.”

The robots taking photos with visitors, answering questions, and even performing on stage in some cases added color to the event.

At the exhibition, Shamil Sadiq not only got closely acquainted with innovative technologies but also held discussions about their application in the field of education. He exchanged interesting ideas, especially about the role of artificial intelligence in school management, automation of the teaching process, and the development of students’ creative skills.

Such international events are considered an important platform for education leaders to learn about new technologies, build international networks, and explore innovative solutions that can be implemented in Azerbaijan.
