The Friendship of Subjects Olympiad will be held for the 15th time this year

Today, integration processes are taking place in all fields of science worldwide, and integrative approaches form the basis of all subject curricula. To expand the promotion of this approach among students, the Friendship of Subjects Olympiad (FSO), dedicated to the Day of Solidarity of World Azerbaijanis, was established.

The main purpose of the Friendship of Subjects Olympiad is to stimulate the intellectual thinking abilities of participants, create favorable conditions for talented and capable students, ensure their future educational development and professional orientation. At the same time, one of the main goals of the Olympiad is to reveal the creativity and cultural skills of schoolchildren studying in general education institutions and to develop analytical thinking.

The questions in the Friendship of Subjects Olympiad are prepared in an integrative format. Thus, in the statement and answer options of a single question, the integration of 2–5 subjects is reflected. The questions, which are designed with 2-subject, 3-subject, 4-subject, and 5-subject integration, are evaluated according to their level of difficulty.

This year’s – 15th edition of the Olympiad will be held on December 7, 2025. The competition will be organized among 2nd–9th grade students of general education schools in Baku, Nakhchivan, Sumgayit, Khirdalan, and other cities and districts of the republic. The Olympiad, consisting of one stage, will require participants to answer 50 questions within 2 hours.

The main resources for students preparing for the Olympiad are the textbooks of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan for grades 5–9 in the subjects of Azerbaijani language, literature, English, mathematics, chemistry, biology, geography, physics, and history, as well as the school curricula.
